Middle School Food Drive

The Middle School student council is sponsoring a community service project in connection with National Pizza Day on Tuesday, February 9th. Leading up to Pizza Day, the student council will be organizing a food drive with a goal to build "Dinner on Us" bags to donate to the food pantry. While piping hot pizzas are tough to deliver, Student Council will stick with the Italian theme and collect items to make spaghetti dinner bags. Please send in boxes of pasta, jars of sauce, jars (not fresh) of parmesan cheese, etc., for this food drive. Dessert items are also welcome- boxes of cake mix, cookie mix, etc.  Please send in donations to your student’s homeroom teacher. Tuesday, February 9 will also be a Spartan Spirit Dress Day for Middle School students in celebration of the service project and of National Pizza Day.

Say You Care with Candy Grams

This month, the St. Johns Interact Club is hosting a Candy Gram sale for Middle and Upper School students. This fun tradition is a great way for students and parents to celebrate Valentine's Day. Fill out an order form today and choose from Fun Dip for $0.50 or a small bag of chocolate kisses for $1.25. Say you care by having a sweet valentine delivered to your student and their friends. Students, turn in your orders to your homeroom teacher or to Dr. Román before the end of the day on Tuesday, February 9. Parents, you can drop off order forms at the Administration Building front desk. Candy Grams will be delivered to homerooms on Thursday, February 11 and all proceeds will support the Interact Club's service projects, including the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

Annual Mr. St. Johns Pageant Coming Soon!

Please plan to join us on Saturday, February 20, in the Performing Arts Center for the Annual Mr. St. Johns competition presented by Interact Club. This show is always fun and family friendly, featuring entertaining Upper School boys competing for the crown. Admission is $5.00 and the doors open at 6:30 p.m. Proceeds will support the American Cancer Society. Temperature checks at the door and social distancing, including mask wearing, will be required.

2021-2022 Contracts

As mentioned in Mrs. Baker's email last week, an updated contract for each of your students is now available in My School App. After you log in, you should see a banner across the top of the page alerting you to their availability, and with a quick link to access them. There is nothing for you to do—you have already fully executed the contract— but please take a moment to review them and do let us know if you have any questions. Also, if your plans for next year include relocation or other family transitions that do not include St. Johns, please let us know before February 28, 2021.

February Character Foundations: Kindness

This month in St. Johns' innovative character education program, Spartans of all ages will be learning about and putting into practice kindness, which is defined as showing others they are valuable by how you treat them. Learn more about kindness and this month's activities at sjcds.net/news!
